TIMELINE OF STEP

2014

STEP founded

STEP founded as a Division of STEP Resources - an energy consulting firm in West Chester, Ohio.

2016

Growth begins one customer at a time

In 2016, Energy consulting division of STEP Resources was acquired. Rob Huff is joined by two engineers to form the core team at STEP. Initial vertical focus on Government, Education and Medical.

2018

Establishing key vendor relationships

STEP continues building momentum and growing its customer base, while being recognized for engineering excellence, winning multiple vendor awards: Cradlepoint Partner of the Year, Avaya Partner of the Year, Extreme Networks Partner of the Year, Vertiv Partner of the Year, Aruba Partner of Year.

2019

Key leadership joins

In 2019, Ed Walton joins as CEO. Rob Huff becomes CRO/President. Jim West joins as CFO.

2020

Opening of 5G innovation labs

STEP establishes new HQ & Innovation/Briefing Center in the RiverCenter in Covington, KY. Second location in collaboration with NineTwelve located in Indianapolis, IN.

2021

STEP emerges as leading enterprise partner

STEP garners partner and national recognition for growth and technical excellence winning multiple partner of the year awards - Extreme Networks, Ericsson/Cradlepoint, Avaya, Vertiv, Taoglas, Panorama Antennas and others.

2022

Accelerating growth

STEP has grown to 100+ employees, nationwide coverage and 3000+ customers.

2023

Innovation in 5GLAN/Wi-Fi Connectivity

Powering festivals and events with the STEP CoW - Breeders Cup, Bourbon Festival, Rolex Games, Concours d'Elegance.
